Alicja, Zofia (Cimoch) Malinowska, age 93 passed away February 3, 2026. May she rest in peace with the Lord.
Alicja was born in Łętownica, Poland on March 26, 1932. She led a long and storied life. When Alicja was a child, the world was embroiled in the Second World War. She grew up with bravery. As a young girl, she carried messages to and from partisan groupsoperating near her village. She and her family regularly risked their lives to help those in need. After the war she attended and graduated from a catholic high school in Przemyśl, in southern Poland. There she studied Greek, Latin, and French, among other disciplines. She married her first husband, Zdzisław Choróbski, in 1955 and theyremained together until he tragically passed away in 1978.
In 1981, Alicja came to the US to care for her ailing mother in Burlington, New Jersey. Alicja married Leo H. Malinowski in 1985, with whom she lived in Ewing, New Jersey until his passing in 2004. Before retiring, Alicja worked as a quality control inspector at Kuhn and Jacobs Tool and Molding Company. She and Leo loved visiting Poland, and they stayed there extensively after their retirement. Alicja moved in to live with her sonDaniel, his wife Malgorzata, and her two grandsons in Richboro, Pennsylvania in 2019.
Ever independent, she maintained a small apartment where she enjoyed cooking and sitting by the fire. She loved to share her meals and recipes with her family. Alicja most of all loved her family. She was always in contact with family either in the United States or Poland. Her phone was regularly filled with the voices of those she loved and cared for. She was the first to hear of family news, regardless from which continent. Alicja wasalways there with an open ear and thoughtful questions. She supported her family and helped guide them through their life.
Alicja is survived by her three children: Anna Lewczuk, Marek Choróbski, Daniel Choróbski; her stepdaughter Jane Stawicki; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; and two sons-in-law. She will be greatly missed.
