Anne Louise Scheckler

November 5, 1931 — April 17, 2026

It is with heartfelt sadness to say our Mother and friend to many, Anne Louise Scheckler (“Nee” McDonald) has transitioned peacefully to her spiritual journey onto heaven.  Anne transitioned on April 17 2026, she was 94 years old.

Anne was born in Jamaica Queens New York and grew up on Murdock Ave, Queens Village New York.  She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens.  She lived with her mom and dad, Ethel and Bernard, in their beautiful row home until marrying the love of her life Allan, then eventually settled into their home on Wyngate Drive East in Valley Stream New York.  There she and Allan raised their two boys Randy and Richard until moving into a newly built house in New Britain Pennsylvania in 1969.  Anne lived in her New Britain home until moving to Keystone Villa At Douglassville in the fall of 2025.

She was given the name Anna at birth, which was her mother’s girlfriend’s name.  But later in life changed her name to Anne.  Anne had a wonderful life!  She gained many lifelong friends while living in New York.  She was a long time member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace in Cambria Heights.  During that time with the church she became a member of the “Luther League”, a group of young adults, men and women, who were also church members.  This group of friends were unique, not only did they go on many fun adventures together, they also met their significant others there.  These loving friendships lasted throughout their lifetimes.

Anne was what you might call a fashionista, she loved wearing fine looking clothes and jewelry, always looking beautiful wearing the outfits she chose.  She had a fun a lively personality, some who knew her called her sassy, a spitfire.  She loved sipping on Chambord sour cocktails.  She and her father shared a joy of bowling, for many years she participated in a bowling league at Pit Catcher Lanes in Chalfont Pa.  In her later years she enjoyed going on many bus trips with her friends in Pennsylvania.

Anne was a homemaker much of her life, she also worked for U.S. Steel as a secretary for a short time while living in New York, she also worked for Whitehall Mutual in Doylestown doing clerical work.  And she was a long time member of St Paul’s Lutheran church in Doylestown participating with singing in the church choir for many years.

Anne is predeceased by her husband Allan, her mother and father Ethel and Bernard McDonald, her mother in law Ella Scheckler and granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Scheckler.  She is survived by her sons Randy Scheckler (daughter in law Lori), Richard Scheckler (daughter in law Janice), grandchildren Julie Hopkinson (husband Gary), and grandson Greg Scheckler.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 29 2026 at 12PM at the Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Rd Doylestown, PA 18901.  Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation from 11AM-12PM at the funeral home.
