It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Barbara N. Saris who departed this life on March 3, 2026 at the age of 70 and 146 days.

Born on October 8, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Barbara was the beloved daughter of Demetrius S. Saris MD and Nayda Emanuelli Saris MD, and sister to Lydia Saris MD (Daniel Mechenbier), Anne Saris Stevenson MD (Ronn Jenkins, EdD), Steven Saris MD (Ann Honebrink MD), James Saris (Elizabeth), and Teresa Saris Parkes MD (Brad Parkes). She grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania, attended Conestoga High school, and graduated from University of Pittsburgh before pursuing a career in computer science.

She is survived by her children, John N.P. Easby IV, Katherine A. Easby DAT (Keith Feusner), Gregory H. A. Easby (Marlen), her granddaughter Jordan Ciaccia and her mother Laura, her former husband, John N. P. Easby III, and 15 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her nephew James C. Stevenson.

She had a passion for reading, art, and especially crafting. She touched many lives through her love of crochet by making stuffed animals for family members and even teaching them how to crochet. She knew only joy when teaching others the things she loved most. She also enjoyed traveling to Disney throughout her life and sharing moments with her family. She especially loved watching her children and granddaughter enjoy the rides and entertainment. She even did a day trip to Disney with her daughter, traveling from Philadelphia to Orlando and back in the same day! Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, strength, humor, compassion, and generosity.

When her parents had their 50th wedding anniversary, she and her siblings described their family as a symphony, each playing a part. Barbara was described as a flute. A delicate but surprising instrument whose song is most often light in spirit, lilting, at times seemingly carefree, but not necessarily frivolous. She is often spiritually inspiring, exhibiting great equanimity at times when life’s music seems chaotic. Her small size in no way minimizes the great heart inside this precious instrument.

A private celebration of life will be held on April 23, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund for her beloved granddaughter, Jordan. Barbara’s last wish was to make sure Jordan achieves all her life goals. She is currently a freshman at Immaculata University pursuing a degree for pre-veterinarian medicine.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love, wisdom, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
