Brian W. Haigh, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 11, 2025, in Doylestown, PA, at the age of 78. Born on August 28, 1946, in Medford, MA, and raised in Oreland, PA, Brian lived a life rich in love, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A proud veteran, Brian served in the Navy during the Vietnam era, embodying the sense of duty and commitment that would characterize his life. He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from the Philadelphia College of Science and Textiles and later a Master's from Temple University. After a successful career at AT&T, he made the remarkable decision to retire early, paving the way for his passion for teaching—a calling that brought him deep fulfillment.
Among Brian's proudest accomplishments was his dedication to volunteerism; he regularly volunteered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, impacting the lives of many young people in his community. He was known for his bad dad jokes and was described as determined yet stubborn, a personality that endeared him to family and friends alike.
Brian’s family was his greatest joy, especially his wife of fifty-two years, Nora Haigh. Together, they created a warm home filled with love and laughter. He is also survived by his son, Robert W. Haigh, his daughter, Heather L. Haigh, and his granddaughters, Olympia Haigh and Delphia Haigh. These relationships were paramount to him, particularly during special occasions and holidays, where his passion for family time was evident.
In the twilight of his life, Brian found delight in everyday moments—enjoying Friday ice cream dates with his granddaughters, attending Silver Sneakers classes multiple times a week, and never shying away from a good murder mystery or a chess match. His appreciation for the little things brought warmth to those around him.
Brian was preceded in death by his son, James Haigh.
His legacy will be remembered fondly by all who had the opportunity to share in his life—an embodiment of love, humor, and persistence who will be deeply missed.
