Carolyn Ann Taylor Olein
Carolyn Ann Taylor Olein lived a long and beautiful life full of love, family, and faith. She was born on December 1, 1941 in Jamaica, New York to James D. Taylor Jr. and Marion E. Hagemann Taylor. On May 16, 2025, Carolyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Bedminster, Pennsylvania and is now in the arms of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Bruce E. Olein and her sister, Eileen Goering (Charles). Carolyn’s legacy lives on through her two daughters, Michelle Schlegel (Rob) and Cheryl Bodder (Kevin) and continues on through her cherished grandchildren: Brinton Schlegel (Rachel), Jillane Mable (Jon), Justin Bodder (Elizabeth), Chelsea Virnelson (Jared), Tyler Bodder (Cassandra), Ashlyn Heinrich (Gordon), Christian Bodder (Hannah), and Adrianna Bodder. Her life was further blessed by 11 great-grandchildren: Jace, Autumn, Thatcher, and Ayla Mable; Mitchell and Gwenevere Bodder; Bentley and Hayden Virnelson; Austin and Oliver Bodder; and Carter Heinrich. In addition, a number of loving nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her.
Carolyn grew up in Furlong, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Central Bucks West. She went on to study at Gale Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While attending Gale Institute, she met the love of her life, Bruce. Upon graduation, Carolyn moved to Manhattan, New York where she and Bruce became engaged. They were married on October 7, 1961, at Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church in Neshaminy, Pennsylvania. She began working with Eastern Airlines and later built a fulfilling career with The Daily Intelligencer, where she worked until her retirement. Carolyn and Bruce then enjoyed 20 wonderful retirement years together in Myrtle Beach, where she spent her days bird watching, gardening, and crocheting. During their time in South Carolina, they were active members of Forestbrook Baptist Church.
Carolyn's Life verse was: " Philipians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing,that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" — a reflection of the deep faith that guided her throughout her life.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Carolyn’s life will be held on June 14, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Grace Church of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grace church of Doylestown , 22 E. Butler Ave., New Britain PA 18901.
