Doris M. Crouthamel, a lifelong resident of Doylestown, passed away on June 10, 2026 at the age of 97.

Born January 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Elizabeth Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frederick D. Crouthamel and her son, Glen S. Crouthamel. She is survived by her daughter Ann Ronin (Steve), son Lee Crouthamel, daughter-in law Terrie Crouthamel, four grandchildren Stephanie Tornquist (Hans), Amy Ronin (fiance Steven Carroll), Kyle Crouthamel (Halen), Katie Crouthamel and two great grandchildren Anders and Zane Tornquist.

She graduated from Doylestown High School in 1948 and became a bookkeeper at MH Hosiery and Penn Color. After marrying Fred, she became a homemaker.

Doris lived a long and fulfilling life, always loving and supportive of family and friends. She had many friends, and remained in contact with them throughout their entire lives. She enjoyed family trips to the mountains and shore, and camping. For years, every Sunday during the summer, she had family picnics at the river with motor boat rides, water skiing and swimming. She was a great Mom.

Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. She attended every soccer game, baseball game, gymnastic show, dance recital, and band concert that she could. She never missed a holiday or birthday. In her free time, she enjoyed going on trips with the senior citizens group and Penn State Extension Service. If there was a concert, she was there-Wednesday at Central Park, Hansel on Thursday, and Delaware Valley Market on Friday. She was also a very active member of the local gym's Silver Sneakers program. If there was a class, attendance was mandatory; as Doris would always say, "There's no time out in Silver Sneakers."

She was loved by everyone she met and will be truly missed.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 10am until her memorial service at 11am Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA. Interment will be in Doylestown Cemetery, immediately after service.
