Duane E. Presti

d. June 13, 2023

Duane Edward Presti of Doylestown passed away June 13, 2023 at Penn Presbyterian Medical. Duane was the 69-year-old husband of Leigh Gilmore Presti. Born in Baltimore, MD to Maysie Weckesser Presti and the late Frederick J Presti.

Duane graduated from C.B. West, Bucks County Community College and Temple University. Duane and his late brother David ran a music promotion business in the late 1970s, Something/Anything Productions, bringing entertainment like Livingston Taylor, Arlo Guthrie and Michael Martin Murphy to the area. Duane then began a career in finance at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Princeton, NJ for several years.  This experience inspired him to create his own database software platform which he sold around the world through his company, PARIS Technologies Intl. Inc. He had businesses in the Philippines, South Africa and Australia. As part of his work, he traveled extensively around the world and included his family and friends in these travels whenever possible.  He loved traveling for vacation as well and especially enjoyed London, Kauai, Hawaii and Bermuda.

This is an inadequate platform to describe a wonderful and giving man, he was happy every day if he made his wife smile, if he could sing a song or two and whenever he could hug his children or grandchildren.

Duane loved a competitive game of pinochle with Leigh, Leland and Jim; he was often the highest bidder, confident he’d get the cards he needed to win!

He loved music and played multiple instruments; he was in a band from 7 th grade through his college years.  He loved singing and composing music with software; he especially loved karaoke and would sing all around the world, including his friends and employees in the karaoke fun whenever possible.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Shannon Presti, Jessica and Anxo Otero, and Ben and Amy Presti. He leaves behind beloved grandchildren: Xaquin, Caetano and Aloia Otero, Bohannon and Evelyn Presti and Anna Widener. As well as siblings and in-laws: Barbara and Rob Breinich, Linay and Bruce Robinson, Barry and Georgia Presti, Brian and Diane Presti, Darryl and Renee Presti and Janelle and Jeff Falabella; Steven and Kathie Gilmore, Jeff and Mary Gilmore, Kristen and David Beck and Jacki and Pat VanWagner. Duane was blessed to have many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was predeceased by grandson, Bradley David Presti and brother and sister-in-law, David and Nancy Presti and in-laws, Robert and Elaine Gilmore.

Family and friends are invited to his memorial service at 3 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 2 p.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
