It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Erik William Gabler, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and cherished friend. Erik was born on June 3, 1969, in Bethlehem, PA, and he unexpectedly departed this world on February 18, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. His spirit, marked by kindness, generosity, and a distinctive sense of humor, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Erik forged a remarkable career as an entrepreneur, dedicating his life to building successful companies that exemplified his passion for innovation and collaboration. He took pride in creating and nurturing businesses like Limelight Networks, Unicorn Media, and BOLD, showcasing not only his intellect but also his keen ability to sustain relationships that mattered. As Erik transitioned into a more seasoned leader, he became known for his kindness and understanding towards his partners, always striving for mutual success and fulfillment.
Beyond his professional achievements, Erik carved out a vibrant and meaningful life enriched by his passions and connections. A man of many talents, he delighted in cooking—his famous holiday turkey and spicy chili were awaited eagerly by family and friends alike. His home came alive every Halloween as he meticulously decorated to scare the neighborhood trick-or-treaters, showcasing an exceptional sense of playfulness. A sentimental man, Erik cherished every object linked to his personal relationships and family, holding dear the memories they represented.
An athlete at heart, Erik's journey through basketball began at Central Bucks High School West and continued at King’s College, where he left lasting memories on and off the court. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Communication from Arizona State University, but his commitment to family and friends marked his true legacy. Time spent with loved ones was his greatest treasure; long talks under the stars, sharing meals, and experiencing new adventures filled his heart with joy.
Erik was not only larger than life because of his physical stature but also because of the love he held for those around him. He wore his heart on his sleeve, demonstrating unwavering support both in moments of celebration and challenge. His laughter reverberated through gatherings, and his humor, often cheeky and out-of-the-ordinary, brought immediate warmth to any room. His zest for life extended to his love of sports, notably for the Philadelphia Eagles, and to the gentle companionship of his two dogs, Kobe and Jack, who were always by his side.
In addition to his professional life, Erik found great joy in pursuing hobbies that nourished his creative spirit. He had a passion for collecting pocket knives and coins, and a deep love of music and poetry. Many evenings were spent strumming on one of his seven guitars or playing his saxophone, where he often composed heartfelt melodies and poems filled with emotion.
Erik's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his daughter, Lily Gabler. He labeled fatherhood his greatest achievement, and his love for Lily was evident in everything he did. Erik is survived by his beloved daughter, his brother Phillip Gabler, his nieces Emily Gabler (husband Luke Rosina) and Kim Gabler (husband Skylar Katz), sister-in-law Trish Gabler, and Nicole Gabler, Lily's mother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Karl Gabler.
As we reflect on Erik's life, we find solace in the cherished memories we hold close to our hearts. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a generous spirit that will continue to inspire those who knew him. May his memory be a blessing, and may he rest in peace.
