Gail H. Cranmer

Gail H. Cranmer of Richboro, passed away peacefully at Holy Redeemer Hospital on August 10, 2025 at the age of 82 and the wife for 58 years of the late Richard S. Cranmer Jr. Gail was affectionately known to all family and friends as “Penny.”

Born in Philadelphia, Penny was a graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School. She married at age 18 to Richard “Rick”. They soon settled in Richboro, PA to raise their two daughters.

She dedicated 44 years to caring for patients as a nurse’s aide at Holy Redeemer Hospital, where her compassion and work ethic touched countless lives. She soon also took on running half of the family business, Richboro Appliance Service, for almost 40 years managing inventory, handling accounts payable and receivable, and troubleshooting problems before dispatching Rick for repairs.

Penny loved Eagles football, Elvis Presley, all dogs, especially Black Labradors, turkey dinners, chocolate ice cream, making ceramics, needlework, and decorating to the hilt for Christmas. She was a master with jigsaw puzzles, and was able to return to them later in life digitally.

She is survived by her daughters, Holly Romano and Samantha C. Neuman, along with her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Sonya.

Relatives and friends are invited to a service to celebrate Gail’s life at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 1 p.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private
