Gloria A. Bush, née Hamilla, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at Pine Run Health Center, surrounded by family and beloved caregivers. Born on September 19, 1938, in Schenectady, New York, Gloria’s life was a testament to her dedication, compassion, and strength.
A proud graduate of Hahnemann Hospital, Gloria received her nursing degree in 1959. She pursued a distinguished career in nursing, dedicating herself to the care of others. Throughout her career, she worked in various hospital settings before finding a long-term position at Buckingham Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where she devoted 26 years of her life. In 1987, Gloria rose to the position of Director of Nursing, a role in which she demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her patients and staff until her retirement in 2000.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 66 years, Daniel Bush; daughters Donna Breece and Sharon Flowers; and son-in-law Robert Flowers. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Lauren Murphy (Charles), Bethany Flowers (Jeffrey), and Robert Flowers, along with her great-grandchildren Audrey Murphy and Zoe Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Irene Egry Hamilla, her brother, Stephen Hamilla, as well as two sons who died at childbirth, and son-in-law, John Breece.
Gloria's legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched throughout her extensive nursing career. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
