James “Jim” Cooke, age 65, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on March 23rd, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of service.
Jim was born in Philadelphia, PA to Tom and Helen (Mannion) Cooke. The family moved to Flourtown, PA, where Jim graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1978. He graduated from Montgomery County Community College and later attended Villanova University. Jim worked in the field of Corporate Maintenance for many years.
Jim was a proud, active Free Mason and a member of the Palestine-Roxborough Lodge #135 and Williamson-Corinthian Lodge #368 (F&AM). He was also a devoted member of the LuLu Shriners organization and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, where he shared in fellowship and charitable work.
Earlier in life, Jim gave his time and leadership to the next generation as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, Cradle of Liberty Council (BSA Troop 474). His commitment to mentoring young people reflected his strong values and generous spirit.
Jim is survived by his loving sons, Kenny Cooke, Colin Cooke (Megan), and Bryan Cooke, as well as one granddaughter. He is also survived by his siblings, Tom Cooke (Kathleen), Helen Cooke (Beth), John Cooke (Michelle), and Kevin Cooke (Stacy).
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA, where friends will be received from 10:00 -11:00 AM.
Jim will be remembered for his community involvement and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
