Obituary

Jeffrey Martin Sparks, best known as Jeff, of New Hope, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 18, 1957, Jeff was the son of the late Rusty and Stella Sparks. A 1976 graduate of Central Bucks High School East and Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. Shortly after graduating high school, Jeff founded Jeffrey Sparks Excavating, beginning what would become a lifelong passion and an extraordinary legacy. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication led him to purchase Warwick Green Grinders, eventually merging the businesses to form Sparks Industries. What began as one young man's determination grew into a thriving family business and, more importantly, a community of people who shared in his vision.

Alongside his wife, brothers, brother-in-law, and longtime employees, Jeff built far more than a successful company. He created a place where coworkers became friends, employees became family, and generations worked side by side. As the business grew, he took immense pride in welcoming his nephews, son, and daughters into the company. Jeff believed success was not measured solely by what you accomplished, but by the people you helped along the way. He was always willing to lend a hand, share his knowledge, and teach anyone who was willing to learn. The lessons he passed along, both in business and in life, will continue to shape those who had the privilege of working beside him.

Jeff was happiest when he had a project underway. Whether he was building his forever home, working on his pond, practicing masonry, or splitting firewood, he found joy in creating something with his own two hands. He was never one to sit still, and there was always something new he wanted to accomplish. Some of his most treasured moments were spent working in the garden alongside his family, sharing not only his skills and knowledge but also his time. For Jeff, these moments were about more than getting a job done; they were opportunities to teach, connect, and make memories.

Above all else, Jeff's greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared 36 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Diane (Schofield) Sparks. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, hard work, and countless shared adventures. Jeff loved traveling, whether it was spending time in Sea Isle City, heading off on hunting trips, or enjoying cruises and vacations with loved ones. Diane was often the one making the plans, and Jeff was happy to follow along, always ready for whatever adventure she had in store.

Jeff was a devoted father to Paige Sincovich and her husband Glenn, Shaun Sparks and his wife Jessica, Megan Watts and her husband Jared, Jillian Tanner and her husband Jason. He was also a proud grandfather to Wyatt Jeffrey Sparks, Leah Marie Sincovich, and Stetson Steele Tanner. The time he spent with his family, especially the opportunity to work alongside them, and watch them grow, brought him tremendous happiness.

More than anything, Jeff loved the life he and Diane had built around family and traditions. He treasured their Saturday night group dinners with friends. Just as important were their family's Sunday dinners, a cherished tradition that brought everyone together weekly for decades. For Jeff, these gatherings were never just about the meal. They were about being together, creating memories, and making sure family and friends always had a place to belong. The traditions he helped create will continue to bring his loved ones together for generations to come.

Jeff had a lifelong love of music, a passion he shared with his brother and cousins as a member of their Ukrainian polka band, “The Pleasant Aires,” managed by his Uncle Al. He especially enjoyed listening to Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Seger, Phil Collins, Billy Joel, and Elton John. No matter what challenges life brought his way, music remained a constant source of joy and comfort, something he could always turn to and enjoy, even during the most difficult times.

Those who knew Jeff will remember his unwavering loyalty, bold honesty, authenticity, generosity, and remarkable work ethic. He was a man who believed in showing up, keeping his word, and doing things the right way. Helping others was simply part of who he was. Whether it meant giving his time, sharing his knowledge, or offering the resources of his company, Jeff was always ready to lend a hand, no matter the hour. He had a special place in his heart for those growing older, facing health challenges, or finding themselves without someone to lean on. He made sure they were never forgotten, whether by welcoming them into his family's traditions, stopping by for a visit, or stepping in whenever help was needed. Jeff never sought recognition for his kindness; he simply believed in taking care of people. His generosity wasn't measured by what he said, but by the countless ways he showed up for others throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Jeff is survived by his brothers, Ron Sparks and his wife Karen, Ray Sparks and his wife Lynne; and his sister, Diane Malecki and her husband Mark. He is also remembered with love by his extended family, friends, and the many employees and coworkers who became part of his family over the years.

Throughout his health challenges, Jeff demonstrated the same strength, determination, and perseverance that defined his life. He worked tirelessly alongside his doctors to find answers and a diagnosis, approaching every appointment and therapy session with unwavering dedication, never complaining despite the challenges he faced. By his side through it all was his devoted wife, Diane, who lovingly managed countless doctors' appointments, therapies, and treatments, ensuring he received the best care possible with help from family. Together, they faced each challenge with remarkable strength, patience, and love.

Jeff's Catholic faith was a guiding presence throughout his life, and his devotion never wavered. He rarely missed a Sunday or holy day Mass, whether attending in person, watching virtually, or finding a church while away on vacation. Those who knew him could often find him in his familiar spot in the back pew. We will remember him knelling at his beside in daily prayer, and every Friday during Lent, he faithfully attended the Stations of the Cross. While Jeff may have been known to run late to plenty of things in life, there was one place he was always on time: church. His faith was more than a Sunday tradition; it was a quiet but constant part of who he was, reflected in the way he lived, cared for others, and approached life's challenges.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond the businesses he built or the projects he completed. While Jeff will be deeply missed his legacy lives on by the example he set, the values he lived by, every helping hand he extended, every project he brought to life, and every tradition that will continue. The family, friendships, and community he built will remain a lasting testament to a life well lived.
