Dr. Kathleen Herb Brower, a dedicated and compassionate life force, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Born on July 29, 1966, Kathleen's life was a testament to resilience, passion, and an unwavering commitment to the care of others.
Kathleen was the beloved daughter of the late Dr. Thomas G. Herb and Mrs. Ellen Herb. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Charles Brower, Jr., with whom she shared a life filled with love and cherished memories. Kathleen's legacy lives on through her surviving siblings, Diane M. Rutherford (Donald Rutherford), Andrea L. Bourne (Richard Bourne), and Julie Herb Eckrote (David Eckrote). Her presence will also be deeply missed by her dear nephews, Thomas Bourne, Devin Bourne, and Cory Rutherford, her niece, Samantha Bourne, and her stepchildren, Lauren Hopkins (Gregory Donofrio) and Charles "Chad" Brower, III, (Kateryna Brower). Kathleen took immense pride in her role as a step-grandmother to Reese and Riley Hopkins, and Chase and Maya Brower, whose lives she touched profoundly.
Kathleen's academic journey was as remarkable as her professional career. A proud graduate of Pottsgrove High School in 1984, she pursued higher education with fervor, earning a BA in Biologic Basis of Behavior in 1988 from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a DMD with honors from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine in 1992. Her quest for knowledge led her to achieve an MD from the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University in 1995. Kathleen completed her residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in 1998, becoming a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Dr. Brower was the esteemed owner of Kathleen Herb Brower DMD, MD LLC, and a dedicated practitioner at Doylestown Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Her expertise spanned a full scope of procedures, including dental implants, facial reconstruction, bone and soft tissue grafting, and the management of oral pathology and head and neck conditions. As the director of the Delaware Valley Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Kathleen was a guiding light and a mentor to many in her field.
Beyond her professional life, Kathleen was an individual of varied interests and talents. An avid golfer, she found joy and relaxation on the greens, and her love for travel took her to beautiful destinations, with Long Beach Island in Beach Haven, NJ, holding a special place in her heart. Kathleen was known for her generosity and care for others, a lover of collectibles including pinball machines and other fun memorabilia, and was a family ancestry and genealogy guru. Her enthusiasm for life, friendship, and her loved ones brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Kathleen's Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home. Friends and family can gather to honor her memory and share in the joy that she brought to so many. 1 pm Visitation, 2 pm Service.
