Kathleen Ridge-Alden, age 85, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 23, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Dr. James C. Alden.

Kathleen was the daughter of the late Hugh Ferry and the late Mary Dunleavy Ferry. She was one of six children. She and her four brothers and one sister were raised in Penndel, PA.

Shortly after graduating from nursing school, Kathleen married Arthur George Ridge of Trevose, PA. They moved to Langhorne, PA and raised their two daughters, Mary and Susan, and their son, Michael. Art and Kathy moved to Vermont several decades ago. Kathy continued her nursing career and also pursued her sewing, gardening and crafting hobbies. She created the majority of her extensive wardrobe and jewelry. She was a patron of local artists and plant nurseries.

After Art's passing, Kathy continued forward with life. She recently married Dr. James Alden and they settled in Newtown, PA. She leaves behind her two daughters, a daughter-in-law (Carol Ridge), four grandsons, one step-grandson and one granddaughter. Her son, Michael Andrew Ridge, passed away one year ago.  We are very grateful to Jim for his loving care of Kathleen.
