Kenneth E. Hunt, a dedicated executive, community leader, and beloved family man, passed away on June 3, 2025, at his home in Salford Township after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born on February 9, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA, he lived a life rich in professional achievement and personal fulfillment, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service.
Ken's professional journey began with his studies at the University of Delaware, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. He further pursued his education with an MBA from Drexel University, preparing him well for a remarkable career that spanned multiple continents. For 25 years, he worked for Mobil Oil as an executive, an experience that allowed him to travel the world and immerse himself in diverse cultures. His career path later led him to Cabot, where he served as the Executive Vice President of Acquisitions for five years.
After retiring from the corporate sphere, Ken turned his focus toward community service. He devoted the last two decades of his life to bettering the Boyertown community, taking on various volunteer roles and engaging deeply with local initiatives. His commitment to making a positive impact was recognized when he was named the 70th annual Boyertown Area Citizen of the Year in 2024, a testament to his enduring influence and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, Ken cherished the joys of travel with his spouse, Bernice Bates. Together, they explored the globe, appreciating the culinary offerings of each region they visited. Ken also found pleasure in simpler pleasures, an avid sports fan (especially the Philadelphia Eagles) as well as playing golf and walking his beloved dogs, Lily and Charly.
He is survived by his devoted spouse, Bernice Bates; his step-daughter, Heather Fenix; his daughters: Kerri Hunt and Becca Hunt; his sister, Diana Aird; and his niece, Aurora Hunt, and nephew, Andrew Hunt.
