Lydia Elizabeth Rencs (née Bremsmits) passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at the remarkable age of 99. Lydia was born on November 28, 1926, in Riga, Latvia—a city and country she held close to her heart throughout her life.

Lydia’s journey through life was marked by profound resilience, quiet strength, and deep devotion to her family. Her enduring spirit was evident in every stage of her long and meaningful life, which spanned continents and nearly a century of history. Lydia cherished her heritage and often spoke of her childhood in Riga, sharing memories that enriched the lives of those around her and kept the traditions of her homeland alive within her family.

Lydia was the beloved wife of the late Leo Rencs, with whom she shared many years of partnership and love. Together, they built a life rooted in commitment, raising a family whose closeness was a reflection of the warmth and care Lydia brought to every relationship. The passing of Leo was a deep loss, yet Lydia’s strength and grace continued to inspire those who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mara Janson, and son-in-law, Charles Janson, both of whom were constant sources of pride and joy for Lydia. She took great delight in the accomplishments and happiness of her grandson, Brian Janson, as well as his wife, Sandra Janson. Lydia’s legacy continues through her great-grandsons, Wyatt and Ethan Janson, whose lives she touched with her gentleness, wisdom, and love.

Lydia’s presence will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life stands as a testament to enduring love, perseverance, and the cherished bonds of family. As her loved ones reflect on her nearly 100 years of life, they find comfort in the memories she created and the values she imparted.
