Maria Caporizzo, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on June 23, 2026 at the age of 64.
Born on January 23, 1962 in Philadelphia, PA, Maria was the daughter of Domenica D’Andrea (nee Trozzi) and the late Venanzio D’Andrea. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving Italian family and remained deeply connected to her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and relatives throughout her life. Family was at the center of Maria’s world, and the relationships she nurtured over the years were among her greatest joys. She shared a special bond with her brother, Franco D’Andrea, and treasured the closeness of her extended family.
Maria attended Gwynedd Mercy College, where she developed the values of hard work, compassion, and lifelong learning that would guide her throughout her life.
In 1981, Maria met the love of her life, Gino Caporizzo. Together they built a beautiful marriage rooted in love, partnership and unwavering devotion. Over the course of their life together, they created a home filled with love and raised two children, Elisa and Anthony, who remained the pride and joy of their life.
Professionally, Maria enjoyed a long and meaningful career with McMahon Automotive Group. The McMahon family and her colleagues became much more than coworkers, they became extended family.
While she valued her professional accomplishments, Maria’s most cherished role was being a mother. She poured her heart into raising Elisa and Anthony, never missing an opportunity to be present in their lives. Whether through school activities, committees, events, celebrations, or everyday moments, Maria showed up wholeheartedly. She believed that the greatest gift she could give her children was her time, attention, and unconditional love.
As a family, Maria and Gino shared a passion for travel, learning, and experiencing the world together. They created countless memories exploring new places, embracing new cultures, and teaching their children the value of curiosity, adventure, and togetherness.
Nothing, however, brought Maria more joy than becoming “Nonna.” She adored her four grandchildren—Stephen, Gino, Julia, and Gemma—and treasured every moment she spent with them. Whether reading stories, celebrating milestones, sharing traditions, or simply offering a warm hug, Maria’s love for her grandchildren knew no bounds. They loved her completely, and her presence in their lives was a gift they will carry with them forever.
Maria will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart and her unwavering devotion to her family. In recent years, she discovered a passion and talent for painting, finding joy and creativity in every canvas she completed. Her artwork reflected the same patience, beauty and care she brought to every aspect of her life. Maria’s legacy will live on in the family she nurtured, the friendships she cherished, and the countless lives she touched.
Maria is survived by her beloved husband, Gino Caporizzo; her children, Elisa Prousi and her husband George, Anthony Caporizzo and his wife Carly; her cherished grandchildren, Stephen, Gino, Julia, and Gemma; her mother, Domenica D’Andrea (nee Trozzi); her brother, Franco D’Andrea and his wife Linda; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Venanzio D’Andrea.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Maria’s life. A viewing will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
