Marianne B. Brochhagen of Doylestown, passed into eternal life on Sunday, September 29. She was 81 years old.

Marianne took young seeds, nurtured and loved them until they grew into the beautiful flowers. Marianne was an Oma. To her own children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, to those in the neighborhoods of New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Pennsylvania as well as to those in her care at the Goddard School, she was Oma. Being Oma was part of her heritage and the truest reflection of her nature and character. A reflection which could be seen in her beautiful garden, her charitable works, her many cherished friendships, her connections to her German club, in every meal served from her beloved kitchen where all were always welcome and around the dining room table where she shared her reflections, lessons, witticisms, childhood stories in Erfurt, Germany, love of her family and passion for QVC.

Born in Arnsdorf, Germany, Marianne was a daughter of the late Guenther and Gisela (Efler) Kraeker and was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Henry H. Brochhagen who passed on July 7th 1995. She is survived by her three children; Robert, wife, Beth, of Port St. Lucie, Fl, their two children: Kerri and Christopher; Bruce, wife, Kirsten, of Pittstown, NJ, their two children: Rachel and Dane and Barbara Matiatos, her husband, Spero, of New Providence, NJ, and their three children: Ranee Hilton, her husband, Adam, Caitlyn and Henry. Marianne is also survived by her sister: Ilse Burk, her husband Ed, and her brother: Peter, his wife, Hilde and will be forever remembered by all those whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests from 4 p.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contribution in Marianne’s be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org.
