Marvin Leonard Woodall

Marvin Leonard Woodall of Doylestown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in the presence of loved ones on July 30, 2026, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Dee Ann (Elliott) Woodall, who passed away on September 26, 2025.

Born in Houston, Texas, Marvin was the son of the late Emil Marvin Woodall and Pearl (Adams) Woodall. His brother, Robert Woodall, went home to our Lord on November 16, 2008, at the age of 66.

Marvin graduated from high school in Del City, Oklahoma in 1955. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma in June 1959, majoring in Management Science with a minor in Accounting and Finance. While at OU, he met Dee Ann, and the couple married in July 1960. They began their life together in Lubbock, Texas, marking the first of their 14 moves.

Marvin began his career as a sales representative with Procter & Gamble where he helped introduce “Mr. Clean” to the market. In 1963, Marvin joined Johnson & Johnson as a medical product sales representative in Houston, Texas. This marked the first of 19 positions he excelled at during his 37-year career with J&J. While serving as President of Johnson & Johnson Interventional Systems, he was a driving force behind the development of the first coronary stent, a breakthrough technology that revolutionized cardiology and improved millions of lives worldwide. Not one to sit still, after retiring from J&J in 2000, Marvin continued to lead in the medical community. His wisdom and generosity led to the establishment of the Woodall Center for Heart and Vascular Care at Doylestown Hospital. Additionally, he served as CEO of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, president of the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic, and sat on numerous boards of directors for start-up medical device companies. Most recently, he served as Chairman and CEO of Thrombolex, a medical device company that makes endovascular catheters to treat blood clots and vascular conditions.

After settling in Doylestown in 1985, Marvin and Dee Ann joined Doylestown Presbyterian Church where Marvin served as an elder. Deeply committed to philanthropy throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Marvin dedicated himself to several local organizations, including serving as Chairman Emeritus of the Heritage Conservancy, Chairman of the Board of the Bucks County Playhouse Artists, and founding member of the Board of Directors of the Bucks County Herald Foundation. Other organizations Marvin left a lasting impact on include: Bucks County Symphony Orchestra, Bucks County Choral Society, Village Improvement Association, Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA), Mercer and Michener Museums, and countless more. An avid golfer, Marvin enjoyed playing at Doylestown Country Club and on courses throughout the world. He loved listening to jazz music, attending theater performances, and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners.

Marvin is survived by his two children: Mark Woodall and Amy (Todd) Carroll; Grandchildren: Ashleigh Woodall, Katherine (Mitchell) Cotter, William (Amanda) Woodall, Emily (Matthew) Davidson, Anna (Pearson) Brown, Matthew (Matheson) Carroll; Great grandchildren: Leighton and Tucker Davidson, William and Shepard Woodall, Lucy Brown, and Benjamin Cotter.

The family invites those who wish to celebrate the life of Marvin to join them for visitation from 9:00 am – 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in Andrews Hall at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E Court St, Doylestown, PA 18901. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 am, followed by the interment at Doylestown Cemetery at approximately 12:15 pm. A reception with light refreshments will be held in Andrews Hall at Doylestown Presbyterian Church immediately following the services. Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of these events.
