Longtime resident of Doylestown, Mary died peacefully on Wednesday July 8, 2026 at The Solana Doylestown in Warrington, PA. She was 88.
Beloved wife of 67 years to Edward James Frick. Raised in Lakewood, NJ, Toms River NJ and Oreland, PA, she was the loving daughter of the late George and Miriam (Smith) Gaumer. Devoted mother of Karen Frick Kerressey and her husband, Paul of Boston, MA; Edward James Frick and his wife, Jeaninne Einfalt of Ottsville, PA. Proud grandmother “Mimi” of Caroline Rose Kerressey and her husband Remy Grignon of New York City, NY and Matthew Edward Kerressey of Boston, MA. Dear sister to the late Arlene Hackman and survived by Phyllis Eckelmeyer of Chalfont, PA. Mary was a graduate of Upper Dublin High School class of 1955 and an alumnus of Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in Glenside, PA. With a degree in elementary education, she was a second grade school teacher in her early career. After raising two children, she worked in doctor offices in reception and billing. She found her dream job at Delaware Valley College (now Delaware Valley University) as the Student Life Coordinator - interacting with students and organizing events on campus. Her true passion through out her life was PAINTING - she loved to paint! “Mary’s Minnies” was her side gig- working with Ed to create miniature replicas of clients homes, businesses, landmark buildings. Those who knew Mary will remember her laugh, her wit, her spunkiness and fun loving nature; her love of shopping, travel, yoga, crossword puzzles, Roger’s and Hammerstein musicals and mint chocolate chip ice cream- which Ed brought her every night for the past 13 months. She was a strong woman and she will be greatly missed.
The viewing will be held Thursday, July 16th, 2026 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, in Doylestown PA from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by a service from 11 to 11:30 AM. Mary will be laid to rest at Whitemarsh Cemetery following the service. A luncheon for friends and family of Mary will be held at the Joseph Ambler Inn.
