Michael P. Olenick, 89, formerly of Steubenville, Ohio passed away peacefully at the Willow Hospice in Doylestown on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Fittingly, this facility is adjacent to one of his favorite sites; the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
Born in Weirton, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Vincent and Dorothy Kubiak Olenick. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dora J. Lulla; his brothers: Edmund, Casimir, Walter and his three sisters: Sophie Pipinos, Mary Newman and Laura Markowicz.
Mike was a master bricklayer, retiring after forty-one years of building countless homes, additions, fireplaces and buildings in the tri-state area. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army
with a frontline unit and was a member of the VFW. He was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church and was a regular adorer in the late evenings for Perpetual Adoration.
He spent his retired years traveling about and visiting with his children and grandchildren. He resided for the past four years in Doylestown with his son, daughter-in-law, grand and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Michael A. and Brenda Olenick of Doylestown; his daughter, Valerie J. Olenick and John Browning of Tucson, AZ; his three grandchildren: Amy and Vinnie Paccapaniccia of Newtown; Michael C. and Rachel Olenick of Doylestown and Leah and Vince Pizii of Philadelphia, as well as his seven great-grandchildren, Julia, Claire and Nicolas Paccapaniccia; Chelsea and Vivian Olenick; Ethan and Emily Pizii and his brother, Frank, of Weirton and sister, Anna Abramowicz, of Charleston, WV.
