Pamela J. Dunn

d. August 27, 2025

Pamela Josephine (Rush) Dunn of Doylestown, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday,August 27, 2025 in her home. She was the loving wife for 53 years of William F. Dunn.

Pam was born January l9, 1947 in Doylestown. She was the daughter of the late Nancy and George Rush, both graduates of Doylestown High School Class of 1933, as were both of her in-laws.

The family moved to the Midwest when Pam was young, returning to Doylestown to stay when she was in 6th grade.

Pam was a proud member of the Class of 1965 from Central Bucks High School, as was her husband, William F. Dunn. Although they first met at an ice skating party at Frey's Pond upon her return, invited by her future mother-in-law, they did not start dating until after high school. Pam also attended Millersville University.

Pam and Bill married in 1972, shortly after Bill's return from Vietnam. Bill immediately began pursuing his passion becoming a professional motorcycle racer and Pam became a member of the pit crew for the next five years, along with Seth Blau and Walt Carter. After retiring from racing, they had two children, Emily and Michael, medical miracles considering her husband's medical condition.

Pam started her professional career as a bookkeeper with Boyd England, C.P.A. In 1975 she joined her husband's business, Goss Auto Parts (NAPA), as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk. As the business grew she began filling in at the counter and quickly became a customer favorite. She became an expert in her profession, always solving the customer's problems. lt didn't hurt that she was a pretty blond. She remained there for 40 years, remaining by request even through a sale of the business to Fred Beans, and retiring in 2015.

Pam made friends everywhere she went. She was actively involved in her recovery and spiritual journey while helping others along the way. You know who you are and you are feeling, the loss. Her creative skill was evident in her needlepoint, several on display at the Art Walk in the Doylestown Hospital, where she was also a volunteer in the MRI Department. Each work on display is dedicated to a woman important in the evolution of' the Doylestown Hospital. They are to Pam's mother Nancy, a long time VIA member, her mother-in-law, Sarah Dunn, also a long time VIA member and VIA President when the "new" hospital moved from Belmont Avenue, and to Marie Goss, the favorite aunt who began and encouraged Pam's creativity, and is the namesake of her granddaughter. Please visit the Art Walk and view all of the pieces on display.

Although a reluctant-traveler, often accusing Bill of bullying her into going with him on RV trips, she loved them as soon as they got on the road again. She particularly enjoyed exploring New England and the Adirondack. She was also a rabid Eagles, Phillies and Penn State Football fan, enjoying the considerable recent successes.Pam reveled in her grandchildren, Samantha Bredow (an electrician) and Grace Bredow (a Coast Guard Signee), both of Doylestown and Marie Dunn (a two time South Korea National Speech Champion) of South Korea, all incredibly talented and unique.

ln addition to her husband, Bill, she is also survived by her daughter Emily, her husband, Jerold , her son, Michael, his wife, Jennifer; her grandchildren mentioned above, brother Brian Rush, his wife, Sandy; sister, Diane Weller, her husband, Bob, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews are also having trouble with this today. Pam will be sorely missed by her family which includes the large group of friends who helped her and those she helped through this journey.

Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service.
