Phyllis Sexton, age 90, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20th, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alan Sexton, and her sister, Madeline Fetterman.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Aron Sexton (Kathi) and Andrew Sexton, and her cherished grandchildren, Hannah Sexton and Elle Sexton, who brought her immense joy.
Phyllis was born in Campbelltown, Pennsylvania. A lifelong learner, Phyllis was a proud alumna of Hershey High School, Dickinson College, and Penn State University, where she obtained her graduate degree. Phyllis devoted many years to teaching chemistry at George School, where she touched the lives of numerous students through her dedication, knowledge, and passion for learning. Her impact extended well beyond the classroom—as she founded the girls Doylestown Athletic Association (DAA) field hockey program, leaving a lasting legacy of opportunity, leadership, and empowerment for young women.
She was also an avid and proud member of the Bucks County Choral Society, serving as former President, and found great joy in singing and participating in every concert.
Known for her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, Phyllis always kept those around her smiling—you could never quite predict what she was going to say.
A lifelong sports fan, Phyllis especially enjoyed cheering on Philadelphia sports teams as well as her alma mater, Penn State. Her fondest memories were made spending time with her grandchildren—whether baking her famous pumpkin pie, shopping together, or simply sharing moments filled with love and laughter.
Phyllis will be remembered for her warmth, passion for teaching and music, and her deep love for family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. No services are planned at this time.
