Shirley F. Cassel

Shirley F. Cassel of Chalfont, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025.  She was the loving wife of the late Warren Cassel and together they shared 54 years of a wonderful marriage.

Born in Quakertown, PA Shirley was the daugher of the late Lillian (nee Gery) and Walter Fox.

Shirley grew up in Pennsburg, PA and graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1956. Following graduation she worked at Harleysville Insurance as their Employment Interviewer and also attended Ursinus College Evening School majoring in Psychology. Her next job was at Bucks County Intermediate Unit as their Benefits Administrator.

Shirley and her husband, Warren, became members of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Council of the Navy league where she was their membership chairman.

During her retirement years she enjoyed being a member of the Davis Breakfast Club, North Penn Questers, and Warrington Criterion Club. She was also enrolled in ceramic and quilting classes, as well as oil painting and theorem classes. Shirley and Warren truly enjoyed traveling throughout the world and took trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe and Australia in retirement.

Shirley and her husband, Warren, were members of Doylestown Presbyterian Church. Shirley had served on the Board of Deacons and also served as a greeter, usher and was on other committees.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Susan) and Darren (Lorrie) and brother, Terry Fox (Charlotte). She was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren: Brooke (Trent Smith), David, Thomas, Scott, Erin and Olivia Cassel.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 East Court Street, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.  Interment will follow the service in Beulah Cemetery.
