June 27, 1939 — September 17, 2025

Doylestown, PA

Shurley Ann Barrow Stumpf was born in Vienna, Georgia to Frank and Janie Mae Shurley on June 27, 1939. She joined five other siblings…Ethel, Janette, Frankie Mae, George and Charlie. She eventually moved to Albany, Georgia where she met her husband Michael, who was stationed there with the U.S. Navy.Shurley spent almost 7 years living in Los Angeles, near her brother Charlie. She and dear friend Willyene left Georgia together for this great adventure, where she was an Executive Secretary at Union Carbide. Until one day, she simply decided to return to Georgia to be near family that was dear to her.In 1971 she moved to Doylestown after Mike’s discharge to be with him. They were together for 56 years and married for 53.In July of 1975 they welcomed the love of their life, Jennifer Michael. Jen went on to graduate from Bucks County Community College before joining Continental Airlines, now United, as an international flight attendant, now in her 27th year. She left Arizona after 17 years recently and moved to Denver, to be near the mountains and a larger United base.Shurley held various secretarial positions in Doylestown, culminating in several years at Fahnstock & Co, a brokerage firm, headquartered in the same space that was the Executive Offices of Doylestown Federal Saving where Mike was Executive Vice President.Shurley and Mike during their 56 years together traveled the world. Cultivated strong and loving relationships here with so many. In 1988 they sold their renovated Victorian in Doylestown and moved to Mill Road. I’ll never forget the day Shurley set the Harvey Avneue house on fire while scraping Chestnut woodwork during a two year renovation. That was the end of her renovation career.Shurley enjoyed many trips to Europe, with Italy and Greece and Spain being favorites, several times over. She loved to travel. And in later years, those treks across Europe changed to Celebrity Cruises many places where she loved to sit on the stateroom balcony for hours, by the sea. And the sea was a huge part of their lives, spending over 50 years on the white sands and in the irridescent turqouis water at Pelican Walk in Panama City Beach, where we made so many dear friends. Her love of golf and the dear friends she made have been lasting relationships.God bless Shurley Ann.Private services will be at the convenience of the family Please remember Shurley in your prayers.
