Stephen B. Lueckel

April 5, 1949 — February 2, 2026

Doylestown, Pennsylvania

Stephen Lueckel, age 76, passed away on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a family who adored him and a community that will deeply miss his laughter, stories, and unmistakable presence.

Born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Stephen grew up in Warrington and spent most of his life in Solebury, PA, a place he proudly called home. He was the longtime owner of Lueckel’s Custom Painting, a business built on skill, hard work, and Stephen’s personality—which was often just as memorable as the paint job itself. If Stephen was working on your house, you could count on quality craftsmanship… and at least one good laugh.

At just 15 years old, Stephen met the love of his life, Diane Lueckel, beginning a love story that would span more than six decades and 55 years of marriage. Their partnership was marked by loyalty, selflessness, and a lifetime of shared memories.

Stephen was a devoted father to his daughters, Stephanie and Kristen, and a very proud grandfather to Chase, Summer, Maxton, Emery, and Nicholas. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took his role as their biggest fan very seriously—whether that meant cheering loudly, boogie boarding in the Atlantic, proudly bragging about them to anyone who would listen or just telling them good old fashioned fart jokes.

Stephen loved his alma mater, Penn State University and fraternity Sigma Chi with true dedication and enthusiasm—game days and brotherhood mattered, and everyone around him knew it. He also had a deep appreciation for a good Irish pub, a proper pint, and the simple joy of sitting with friends telling stories. He was an avid golfer who loved being out on the course, even if the scorecard didn’t always reflect his confidence. Between golf, Penn State, family gatherings, time spent down the shore, and a good story, Stephen was happiest when surrounded by people and laughter.

Known as the life of the party, Stephen had an infectious sense of humor and a larger-than-life presence. He filled rooms with conversation, joy, and energy, and he had a rare gift for making ordinary moments memorable. Family gatherings won’t be quite as fun without him.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Diane Lueckel; his daughters, Stephanie Lueckel and Kristen Buckler; his son-in-law, Michael Buckler and his five cherished grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so fiercely and the countless lives he touched with his warmth and humor.

And as Stephen himself would surely approve, may your glass always be full, your stories get better with each telling, and may we always remember him with a smile. Sláinte.

A private burial is being held for close family only. A celebration will be held at a later date.
