It is with profound respect and sorrow that we announce the passing of William "Bill" VanHorn, who left this world on April 30, 2026, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Born on March 3, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, Bill lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and spirited adventure.
Bill was a proud graduate of George Washington High School in Philadelphia, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and engagement with his community. He devoted 25 years of his career as a Journeyman within the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 19, a testament to his skill and commitment. Following this, he worked with great dedication as a school bus driver for First Student in the Central Bucks School District, ensuring the safety and care of countless children.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill was known as an easy conversationalist, gifted with a remarkable sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. His presence was both engaging and comforting, a rare combination cherished by friends and family alike.
Bill’s life was rich with a variety of interests and passions. He treasured dancing with the love of his life Teri, his devoted spouse. Together, they shared many joyous moments on the dance floor. Hunting expeditions with his father, Clyde VanHorn, cultivated a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors, complemented by his love of skiing and golf played in the company of friends and family. A particularly memorable chapter in his adventurous spirit was marked by the acquisition of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, which took him on numerous exhilarating trips. Among these journeys, his successful ride through the Tail of the Dragon and to Sturgis, South Dakota, stands out as a bold and proud achievement.
Family was the cornerstone of Bill’s life. He could often be seen on the sidelines coaching his sons, William C. VanHorn III and Erik S. VanHorn, during their baseball and basketball games, nurturing their dreams and fostering their talents. After his full retirement, Bill found great joy in watching the children of daughter Kimberly, Thomas and Danielle Yuknus, grow and flourish, creating treasured memories that will forever warm the hearts of his loved ones.
Bill is survived by his cherished spouse Theresa, his sons William C. VanHorn III and Erik S. VanHorn, and his daughter Kimberly M. VanHorn. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. VanHorn, his mother, Mildred A. VanHorn, and his sister, Bonnie Michelotti.
A visitation will be held on May 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, located at 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
