Doris S. Donchez

Doris S. Donchez of Doylestown, died on November 7, 2017 at Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home. She was 95 years old. She was happily married for 68 years to the late Frank Donchez.

Doris was born in Bethlehem to the late Nellie (Helen) Smith and Spurgeon Sigley.

Doris graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem. In 1943 she married Frank Donchez (her long time beau of 5 years) and together they moved to Doylestown in 1948, where Frank took a teaching position at Doylestown High School. After the youngest of their three daughters went off to first grade, Doris took a job in the Data Processing Department of the Bucks County Courthouse where she worked for 10 years. Thereafter, she took a position at Central Bucks West High School as the Attendance Secretary where she remained until retirement.

Tap dancing was Doris’s passion! She was a member of the well-known Toe Tappers of the Central Bucks Senior Center and actively danced until the age of 92. Another passion of Doris’s was playing bridge. She played in a bridge club for over 50 years with the same group of friends. Doris loved the theater, knitting and crocheting, baby sitting her grandchildren and watching game shows. She delivered meals on wheels for many years and had been a long time volunteer at Doylestown Hospital. Doris remained a devout Catholic and lifelong member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

Doris is survived by her daughter: Lynne Anne Donchez, Sally Fabian-Oresic and Nancy Ridgeway, her husband, Joe: her grandchildren: Jesse James and Allison Coleman Fabian, Taylor Jane Ridgeway, Page Windsor Ridgeway and Christopher Wehba; her great-granddaughter, Abigail Grace Fabian; her niece Patricia Lewis Krycia, her husband, Stanley; her great nephew, Scott Krycia, his wife, Melissa; great niece, Shelly Krycia O’Donovan, her husband, Garrett and great-great nephews, Collin, Finn and Liam O’Donovan.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow Mass in St. John Newmann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
