Irmgard “Oma” Ried, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 in Doylestown Hospital. Oma was 97.

Irmgard was born in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1922 and was the daughter of the late Michael and Rosa Laubscher.

Irmgard was married to the late Johann Ried, having immigrated to the United States with their daughter, Milli, on the Queen Mary in 1950. The Ried family lived in Jenkintown for several years before moving to the Maplewood section of Doylestown, where she lived until three years ago when she moved to Pine Run Lakeview in Doylestown.

Irmgard was a tailor at the Lochner’s Tailor Shop and later at Ely’s in Doylestown, while her husband worked as a machinist for Tinius Olsen for more than 35 years. Irmgard also donated her time at both the Senior Center making cinnamon buns and Meals on Wheels preparing meals for many years.

Irmgard is survived by her daughter: Milli Pryor, her husband, Paul; her granddaughter: Lauren Pryor and grandson: Christopher Pryor, his wife, Kristen and their children: Jack, Brady and Peyton.

Services and interment will be private.

Irmgard loved feeding the birds at her Lakeview residence, therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Pine Run Lakeview, 2425 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA 18901 (for the purchase of bird feeders and bird seed!) These things always made her smile!
