Joyce B. Dougherty of Doylestown passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at home. She was 90 years old and the wife of the late James J.Dougherty who passed away in 2012.

Born n North Wales, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Nelda Hummel Snyder.

Joyce graduated from Lansdale School of Business and worked for a time a Merck, Sharp & Dohme. She was an avid fisherman, gourmet cook, supreme hostess and volunteer. Joyce spent many years donating her time to various committees at Doylestown Hospital and was a decades long member of the
Village Improvement Association.

She is survived by her daughters: Aine D. Ungar and Bridget D.Brennecke; her son: James J. Dougherty, Jr., his wife, Rose Gorman Dougherty; daughter-in-law, Diane Mikle Dougherty, as well as her grandchildren: Jeremy Dougherty, Tierney and Rowen Brennecke; Harrison and Cole Ungar; Colleen and James Dougherty and her great-grandchildren: Molly Dougherty and Nieko Moncrieff. Joyce was predeceased by her eldest son, Patrick J. Dougherty.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown. The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 11 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will follow Mass in St. Mary Cemetery, Doylestown
