Katherine “Kathy” Bogle

September 4, 2022

Katherine “Kathy” Bogle, 80, of Doylestown, PA died gently in her sleep on September 4, 2022 at Doylestown Hospital. For nearly 58 years, she was the beloved spouse of Charles Thomas Bogle, who predeceased her on August 28, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kathy was the daughter of the late Edward and Ida Mae (Edelman) Oschman.

Kathy lived with her husband Charles in Philadelphia before they moved in 1967 to the home Charles designed and built for them in Doylestown.

Kathy proudly graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1959, and for many years after graduation, served on the Neshaminy Reunion Committee, actively planning and organizing regular reunions of her classmates. For nearly two decades, she worked as the office manager for National Associates Insurance Company in Doylestown.

Kathy was a cherished member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Doylestown where she developed her strong Catholic faith and officially converted in 2008. She dedicated much time as Treasurer of The Ladies of Mount Carmel and as a Eucharistic Minister, and also to yearly Church fundraisers, Meals-on-Wheels, and outreach to the sick.

Kathy is survived by her son, Charles Robert Bogle, her daughter, Debra Jean Craig, her daughter-in-law Tricia R. Bogle (née Robertson) and her beloved grandchildren, Stephen Thorbahn, Megan Thorbahn, Peter Thorbahn, Robert Craig and Ella Craig, as well as many nieces and nephews. Kathy was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Linda Diane Thorbahn.

Kathy was a deeply committed wife, a loving mother, and a proud and doting grandmother. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her greatest joys. She cared for her family and home with a love, dedication, loyalty, and meticulousness that demonstrated daily how much she cherished them. She remembered and celebrated every birthday and attended every graduation. She was in every way, the strength, the center, and the core of her family, who are bereft at her passing.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass, which will be held together with her husband’s, at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow Mass in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
