Phyllis Lynn Gagner (nee Mintz), 82, of Solebury Township, passed away on September 25, 2024 with her children by her side after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Gerald J. Gagner and adoring mother of Kathryn Gagner (David) Shiller and Lawrence Joseph (Allison) Gagner and cherished grandmother of Joshua and Gavin Shiller and Owen and Quinn Gagner.
Phyllis was born on January 1, 1942 to Gerald E. Mintz and Jeanette (Snyder) Mintz. She was a 1959 graduate of Emmaus High School, and went on to graduate from Saint Luke’s School of Nursing in Bethlehem, PA in 1962.
Phyllis is survived by her sisters: Joann Faust and Elizabeth Crawford, brother-in-lawn Norman Crawford and sister-in-law, Ellen Mintz. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Mintz and brother-in-law, Ellsworth Faust.
Phyllis was involved in many associations and philanthropic endeavors as a twenty year resident of Doylestown, PA and a thirty year resident of Solebury Township. She was a substitute school nurse, a job she truly loved, and was part of the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown. Phyllis wintered in Key West, FL where she owned a knitting shop, was a member of the Harry S. Truman Foundation and the Art & Historical Society of Key West.
Phyllis enjoyed traveling abroad with her husband and later in life with her group of wonderful girlfriends. When home, Phyllis was especially fond of spending time with her children and grandchildren; dinners out with family, sleepovers with the grandkids, and going to Phillies games with her grandson Josh. Knowing Phyllis was to be in the presence of the most generous, caring and selfless person. She will be so missed, and her memory will be forever treasured.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.
