Robert F. Nicodemus, Jr.

Robert F. Nicodemus, Jr., a longtime resident of Doylestown, and more recently of Ann’s Choice passed away on December 16, 2016. He was 84 years old and the loving husband of Jane Hollister Nicodemus.

Born in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Elizabeth Kuhn Nicodemus. He graduated Massanutten Military Academy and the University of Maryland. He retired as the President of H.S. Smiley, Inc., after a long career in the food processing industry.

He was a faithful member of Doylestown Presbyterian church where he served as an Elder and Deacon. Robert was an avid reader and really enjoyed playing tennis with his Monday night group and the mixed-doubles groups. His family meant a great deal to him and he loved being surrounded by them. Robert also enjoyed traveling and get-togethers with close friends.

In addition to his wife, Jane, of 57 years, he is survived by his son, William R. Nicodemus, his wife, Mary Beth, his daughter Christie N. Bailey, her husband, James R. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Kyle, Lindsey, Cara and Caroline Nicodemus and Kathryn, Samantha and Laurel Bailey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Nicodemus Zack.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service for Robert, 11 a.m.,Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 East Court Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Where family will receive guests from 10:30 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s name may be made to Doylestown Presbyterian Church, at the above address or to Doylestown Hospital c/o Development Office, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
